Teaching Advice from a Teacher

Creativity develops through nature and nurture. Both are important.
You teach, therefore you nurture your students' talents.

Almost as Good as a Fortune Cookie

I've been eating a lot of Dove chocolates lately. I have some in candy bowls at my studio and some at work. Anyway, when you open the wrapper there is the chocolate, but also some little saying printed on the inside of the wrapper. Here's one I recently got. It's kind of comforting and depressing all at the same time don't you think?

Good Times...

When I came to work this morning my work-study employees had left me a present taped to the spinning door going into the darkroom. Note the heart shaped "tattoo" the model is wearing with my name on it. They are my beloved Lab Assistants, but I had to take the poster down as it isn't exactly appropriate for the work place, but the memory can live on here...

My WS students tend to have a good time in the darkroom when I'm not around, the "best" time was when a couple of them moved the couch from the lobby area to behind the counter, so no one could get anything out of the cupboards, and left it there for me to find in the morning. The funny part about it was that the two culprits who moved the couch signed their names in the rectangle of dust on the floor that was left under the couch. I knew exactly who did it and was not amused! But the memory, priceless…

Brains....

Mmmmm, wait, not for me, but for my army of zombies, remember... but at any rate, in December I helped a mad scientist with an experiment and let him scan my brain, gave me an MRI actually. Did I know this guy, nope, did I sign two dozen pieces of paper to have this done, yeap, did other people who knew him refer to him as a mad scientist, yeap. Anyway here's my brain!!!! Or at least slices of it from the MRI...

The middle of my brain...

A slice off to the side a little... I look like an alien!

Close to the outside of my head! Now it looks more like a jelly fish.

Cool eh? Or is it just weird?
