A Soup I don't Like

Yes it’s true. Last week I went to work and had plans to order some China One take out with my work-study students for lunch. They have a huge lunch special for just over $5! It’s great, but anyway, when I got there my worker had a different suggestion for me,

“So Caroline, we need some food and I have something better than China One. Since you like soup so much (I really love my work study students, and they even think about me, awwwh) I thought we could order from a Vietnamese restaurant, Trie Chau, where you get a bowl of hot broth and a bunch of raw meat, vegetables and noodles separate then you cook it in the broth as you eat it. It’s really good!"

Well a different kind of soup, sure! So we got it, and it was good, until I came across something strange. It was this white thing that, to me, resembled a sea creature part. Apparently it turned out to be a beef tendon. I tried it, as I’m open to such things, but I just couldn’t get the image out of my head of the thing, the texture was strange, and I, unfortunately, lost my appetite. So steer clear of tendons, that is what I have to say!
